What is the Best Water Repellent For Glass Shower Doors

We have been in the Glass business for nearly 3 decades, and after all these years, the most asked question we get is “What is the best water repellent for my glass shower doors?”

We use our showers daily (well, some of us do) and they get abused with all the products we use. Shampoo being flung around and foamy soap bubbles begin to collect on the glass panels, sliding down and eventually drying and becoming built up soap scum.

Additionally, everyone’s water is different and depending on your home’s water supply, and that can also impact the longevity of your glass shower. Certain water softeners or wells can develop “hard-water” stains on the glass, making the shower look dirty. No one wants a dirty shower.

An easy way to address this is to purchase a water repellent spray specifically for your glass shower door.

The Best Shower Spray

In our professional opinion, purchasing a commercial shower spray is the route to go and one the best water repellent sprays is Rain-X for Shower Doors. This product offers an ultra-slick, non-stick, clear barrier to spray over your glass door or panels. This product will repel water for up to a month between applications.

Steps to Keep your Glass Shower Clean and Clean:

  • Ensure the glass is clean and dry
  • Spray a couple squirts onto a microfiber cloth or paper towel
  • Wipe the product, in a circular motion, onto the clean glass surface
  • Let the product dry for up to an hour
  • Wipe thoroughly once more, to ensure any haze is clear
  • Re-apply every month
